The NT Government is helping young Territorians into digital careers with the commencement of the Cross Sector Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Traineeship Program.

Under the Digital Territory Strategy and Action Plan, the program is a joint initiative with the ICT Industry Association of NT (ICTNT). It’s currently in a pilot phase.

The program aims to help young Territorians start their digital careers with a local digital business by:

  • investment more into the training and development of young Territorians
  • increasing the number of ICT trainees in the NT and
  • supporting local digital industry growth and capability.

Trainees will also undertake a 3 month in-house placement with the NT Government.

Open to any local digital business that employs, or intends to employ ICT trainees in the NT, the program supports those who’ll invest in training initiatives and develop Territory talent.

The first cohort of trainees commenced with New Future IT, NEC and Kinetic IT with more traineeships available.

Businesses and Territorians can express their interest in the program by contacting trainee@ictnt.asn.au or calling 0488 785 328.
