Investing in cyber security for NT businesses
Published: 1 Oct 2025
The Northern Territory Government is supporting small and medium Territory businesses to improve their cyber security and resilience through the $1 million Cyber Invest Business Program.
Reports show the average cost of a cyberattack is $50,000. This can be devastating to small and medium businesses, causing business disruptions and reputational damage.
The program will support eligible businesses to work with a local ICT or cyber security provider to address cyber risks relevant to their digital footprint and develop a Cyber Invest Plan.
These businesses can get up to $10,000 to cover 50% of eligible services to strengthen their cyber security or to test their business’ resilience to a cyber incident.
From Tuesday 30 September, ICT and cybersecurity providers can apply to become an approved provider to work with business.
The program will open to business applicants on Monday 27 October.
