The Department of Corporate and Digital Development is continuing to improve digital connectivity across the Territory, with a new 4G Telstra tower now operating in Alice Springs and faster internet reaching more than 180 schools.

Better mobile coverage

The new tower at Alice Springs Golf Club improves mobile coverage for residents, visitors, local businesses and nearby facilities, including Alice Springs Hospital. It is one of several new mobile infrastructure projects delivered across the Territory in recent months.

Faster internet for schools

Through the Schools Connectivity Uplift Program, more than 180 schools are now benefiting from significantly faster internet connections, including schools in some of the Territory’s most remote communities.

The improved connectivity is helping students and teachers access online learning resources, participate in virtual classrooms and make the most of digital technologies.

Connecting the Territory

The upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen digital services and improve access to communication, education and opportunities for Territorians, no matter where they live.
