New life for iconic wildlife park trains

Two former Territory Wildlife Park trains have found a new home in Katherine, where they are helping bring Christmas celebrations to life.

Supporting community events

The trains have been gifted to the Katherine Community Projects Association (KCPA) by our Minister Joshua Burgoyne and recently joined the popular K-Town Express Christmas light tour.

After carrying visitors around the Territory Wildlife Park for more than 20 years, the trains are now being used to support local community events and create memorable experiences for families.

A festive future

The trains made their first appearance on the K-Town Express in December and are expected to feature in future community events throughout the year.

The addition of the trains helps meet growing demand for the Christmas light tour while giving a well-loved piece of Territory history a new purpose in the Katherine community.
