Digital Futures conference 2019

The inaugural Digital Futures events were held on Wednesday 29 May 2019. The events focused on inspiring women of all ages and at all stages of their career to choose a digital career path.

Featuring elements, never before seen in the NT, like:

  • augmented reality (AR) and interactive digital displays
  • panel discussions
  • exhibition booths
  • AR treasure hunt for attendees and
  • a range of inspiring speakers.

Guest speakers shared their unique career journeys and words of wisdom. Inspiring our territory youth and women of all ages to consider a digital career and enhance their career by embracing technology.

The events were a morning and an afternoon session, with more than 300 people attending. The event received positive feedback.

The morning session focussed on the 'My Path to Tech’. This session was offered free of charge to Territory school students from Years 9 to 11, highlighting the diverse career options available through technology.

The afternoon session presented the 'Inspiring Women in to Technology'. A session where women could hear from other highly respected leaders in their digital fields.

'My Path to Tech’ featured key note speakers, a panel discussion, engaging ‘tech play time’ and interactive booths, with Amy Hetherington as Master of Ceremonies.

Our speakers talked about their experiences, challenges and successes, illustrating how and what they did to enter the digital workforce.

They shared their unique career journeys, words of wisdom. Aiming to inspire Territory youth to consider a digital career and enhance their opportunities by embracing technology.

This event focused on senior school aged students from Years 9 to 11 and aimed to:

  • enhance the digital experience
  • showcase the variety of digital roles
  • encourage a new perspective and highlight career opportunities.
